Perienial ragweed
Upright perennial, 30– 150 cm, with creeping roots; forming dense colonies. Stems numerous, hairy, with lengthwise streaks, woody at the base, branched in the upper half. Leaves grey-green, hairy, deeply lobed. Many cream or pale green male flowers in 3-12 cm long spikes at the ends of branches, female flowers single in leaf axils, spring and summer. Previously known infestations eradicated. Seed transported by animals, vehicles and machinery.
