Giraffe thorn
Spiny 2 m shrub to 16 m tree with rounded or umbrella-shaped crown. Branches reddish brown when young, becoming grey to black-brown and deeply furrowed. Bearing pairs of almost straight spines 5–60 mm long. Leaves bipinnate with the main axis 15-50 mm long. Leaflets 4-13 mm by 1-4 mm. Flowers winter to spring. Clusters of 1-4 bright golden yellow balls each on an 18–40 mm stalk.
