Camel thorn
Rigid, much-branched, spiny, shrub to 1.5 m, commonly 25–60 cm tall. Young stems hairy, mature stems smooth, bearing sharp, yellow-tipped spines 10-25 mm long. Leaves smooth-edged, up to 25 mm long, arrow-head to oval shaped, usually one per node, more common on lower branches. Flowers pea-like, brown to red and purple, in clusters of 1-8 on short stalks off spines or small branchlets. Spring – summer flowering. Reddish brown pod with 1-5 seeds. Recorded in northern Victoria .
