Album: State Prohibited Weeds - black knapweed
Erect perennial to 1 m with creeping roots. Stems ridged, hairy, rough to touch, initially green becoming purple when mature. Leaves hairy, variable in shape. Flowers purple with forked outer petals, heads globe shaped, 3–4 cm diameter, solitary at ends of branches. Scattered infestations throughout Victoria .
