Blue Bell Creeper replace with Climbing Apple Berry (Billardiera scandens)
A local native climber with green/yellow bellflowers.

Polygala can be replaced with the attractive Indigofera australis (Indigofera australis).

Dolichos pea has a native alternative known as Running Postman (Kennedia rubicunda ). Both have similar three-foliolate leaves, but the leaflets are blunt-tipped, the plant is generally smaller, and flowers are red, not pink or mauve.

In coastal areas Cape Ivy can be replaced by Small Leaved Clematis (Clematis microphylla). In lowland forest areas, Cape Ivy could be replaced by Mountain Clematis (Clematis aristata)

Pampas Grass can be replaced with the hardy Red Friuted Saw Sedge (Gahnia sieberiana). A butterfly food plant.

Any Broom species could be replaced with look alike Golden Tip (Goodia lotifolia) or Large Leaf Bush Pea (Pultenaea daphnoides).
